Insight into your unique physiology through bodywork and structural assessment creates the foundation for a bespoke schedule and ongoing maintenance programme. John uses a range of body-working skills (including Remedial & Sports Massage, Esalen massage, Thai yoga massage, Pilates, Tragerwork, and Myo-fascial release techniques) combined with science based biomechanics to better assess the inherent physiological strengths and weaknesses of your body. Bodywork is also used to monitor changes as a result of ongoing training regimes and to boost recovery. Massage sessions can be interchangeable for training sessions during injury, low level illness or simply when a client is tired or run down.

Remedial & Sports Massage Therapy

Remedial & sports massage provides a practical healing form of bodywork that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. It can be extremely relaxing or stimulating and is great way to support a strength & conditioning program. John often identifies the original biomechanical dysfunction thus targeting the cause of the problem, as well as the symptoms. A range of massage techniques are used to locate & treat the muscles, fascia and other soft tissue. Sports Massage therapy supports and speeds up the body's own repair mechanisms, and was originally designed to help athletes prepare and repair their bodies for optimal performance. Remedial & sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.

Esalen Massage

John trained at the internationally renowned Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. Esalen treatments are integrative, holistic and very relaxing. Relaxation, warmth & comfort are combined with long flowing strokes are punctuated with deeper specific work, passive joint movements, creating a heightened state of awareness and energized relaxation in the receiver. John continues to evolve his Esalen practice to create an individualistic experience.

Thai Massage

It employs combinations of rhythmic acupressure, body rocking and deep assisted stretches to relieve muscular tension.
